The Preparatory Plan for the Founding of APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center

Based on the mutual understanding in the discussion between Mr. Shan Ruprai, President of Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO), and Madame Tang Xiaofen, President of Shanghai Association for Quality (SAQ) on Oct. 22, 2007, SAQ drew up the following plan of founding APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center.

1．The Establishment of APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center
APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center, was officially opened by the President of APQO Mr. Shan Ruprai with his Excellency the Vice Mayor of Shanghai on the third floor of the building of Shanghai Association for Quality located at No.74, Tai An Road, Shanghai , China.

SAQ has established a special working team, which performs under the guidance of President of APQO and Madame Tang, and two full-time team members work for the Center. 

2．The Responsibility of APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center
The responsibility of APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center is to carry out quality theory research, academic exchange, quality training, quality professional certification and promotion of GPEA (Global Performance Excellence Award) under the framework of APQO activities.

The APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will directly report to the President of APQO.

3．The Task of APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center
By holding “IAQ Forum”, APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will further give full play of leadership to the international famous quality experts.

By holding “Asia Pacific Youth Quality Forum”, the APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will cultivate young quality professionals and experts, display innovative spirit of young quality professionals and promote the sustainable development of quality work in Asia Pacific Region.

By holding “Quality and I — Asia Pacific Children’s Activity” (painting contest and etc.), the APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will further expand the education on quality awareness, and establish social environment of valuing quality.

By developing training and certification of “Asia Pacific Quality Consultants”, the APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will further enhance the training of core members in quality management for the effective upgrading of quality management, product and service quality. 

By providing service of “enterprise assessment guidelines of performance excellence”, the APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will further help enterprises in Asia Pacific Region achieve business excellence results.

By making theoretic research on performance excellence mode, the APQO Research and Performance Excellence Center will upgrade research level, and publish related books and implementation guidelines.
